How we find what isn’t visible
Most hidden leaks in Malaysian apartments come from three places: hot-water risers behind toilets, slab-level cold lines, and waterproofing breaches under shower trays. Each leaves a different signature, and each is found with a different tool.
Tools on the van
- Acoustic correlator. Two probes on the pipe at known distance triangulate the loudest hiss.
- Thermal camera (FLIR). Hot lines and damp drywall show up cooler than the surroundings.
- Pressure-decay rig. Isolate a loop, charge it, watch the gauge. Honest numbers, no guesswork.
- Tracer gas (nitrogen-hydrogen). For the awkward cases where everything else stays silent.
